Myths about tecno phones you should stop beliving

When people develop self-hatred over a brand, they tend to
easily believe negative things about the brand which forms a
a belief system that’s passed across to several persons.
No matter how you look at it, purchasing a Tecno
smartphone doesn’t make you any less important than
people who go for the big guns; the likes of iPhone, HTC and
Samsung.
Despite this established fact, you begin to wonder why there
are tens of thousands of people who will catch a cold at the
mention of the brand Tecno.
Short answer – It’s because they have fallen for the myth
that Tecno smartphones are a ridiculous excuse for being a
mobile phone.
Sadly, if you have fallen for any of these myths, then
chances are you have missed a couple of things that users
are enjoying.
So what exactly are these myths? Although there are pretty
numerous , allow me to share with you 4 of the most
common ones mobile lovers fall for.
1. Tecno Smartphones Are Bad Because There’re Made In
CHINA!
No doubt, we hear this boring phrase every time and those
who want to take a jab at users of the product shot them
with the phrase – Tecno na chinko.
Ouch….
Don’t Miss: Tecno Is Loosing The Smartphone War In
Nigeria To Gionee?
While it’s entirely true that Tecno is China based, it doesn’t
make the product any less durable. It would shock you to
know that most major mobile vendors, including Apple has
manufacturing plants in China and most of the products
coming to Africa especially Nigeria are made in China.
2. Tecno Smartphones Are Just “A Piece Of Cheap Plastic”
Again, Tecno products are entirely made of plastic, only
recently did the Chinese OEM start producing smartphones
with leather shell and metal casing, better late than never.
However, Tecno’s decision to stick with “cheap plastic” in
the past does makes a whole of sense considering the fact
that they control a market whose users are predominantly
“low budget earners.”
It is a known fact that the highly rated Samsung Galaxy S
series (up to the Galaxy S5) are made with a “cheap” plastic
shell. Also, two years ago, the World’s most valuable brand
Apple designed a line of iPhone in Plastic casing and no one
gave a hoot about it, though it was an embarrassing flop.
So you hate plastic casing as much as I do? The newly
released Tecno Phantom 5 is your answer.
3. Saturation Of The Market With Same Phones In Different
Label
Now, this is hilarious because it makes little or no sense to
believe that Tecno is the only mobile vendor guilty of this
act.
No mobile vendor has released phones in equal succession
like Nokia and before it was acquired and dumped by
Microsoft, no one saw the mass production of phones as a
problem. Shouldn’t Tecno be given that same privilege
considering also, that the China based company isn’t
anywhere near Samsung in mass production of
Smartphones?
Someone affirmed that Samsung doesn’t know the number
of smartphones they have put up in the market. Although,
there is no way to test the validity of such a claim, but it
does makes Tecno a learner in the act of mass production
of phones.
Don’t Forget: 4 Costly Mistakes That Forced Nokia Out Of
The Smartphone Race
4. Tecno Leaves A Fault In Their Device, So They Can Sell
The Next One
A lot of tech savvy users believe buying a Tecno
Smartphone is as good as buying a product that’s dead on
arrival (DOA). The myth that device malfunctioning only
exist on the Tecno brand is not only ridiculous but
shameful.
No responsible company would design a product with a
deliberate fault, with Tecno’s resolve to create a brand that
would give other competitors sleepless nights, it’s unlikely
the China based company would trade its long term vision
for a premeditated engineering and design blunder.
Final Thoughts
The recently lunched Tecno Camon C8 and Phantom 5
proves Tecno is gradually becoming a brand without limits.
Most of the flaws we highlighted earlier were carefully
corrected and for the first time, I was impressed by Tecno’s
design concept on its 2015 flagship concept.
A lot of pundits have said several negative things about
Tecno but with the company’s latest mobile policy of
releasing top-of-the line smartphones and dumping “cheap”
plastic casing for good, a lot more people could change
their perception about the China based company who
dramatically played a vital role in fostering the transition of
feature phones to smartphones in Nigeria.
Are you guilty of having fallen for any of these myths? If you
are, then it’s high time you snapped out of it and crank up
yourself to go get a Tecno phone. What do you think?

How to upgrade to windows 10

Windows 10 is finally here, bringing the familiar desktop back
to the forefront and introducing new treats like Cortana, the
virtual assistant, and Edge, the browser that will finally erase
those bad memories of Internet Explorer. Wondering how to
get in on the goodness? Don’t worry. It’s easy—and if you’re
an existing Windows 7 or 8 user, it’s free.
First, you need to make sure your device meets Windows 10’s
minimum requirements, which it should, because they’re not
all that strenuous. You just need a 1GHz processor, 1GB of
RAM (or 2GB for 64-bit), and 20GB of free disk space. Forget
your PC; other than the storage, even most phones measure up.
All set? Great. From there it’s varying degrees of easy, mostly
depending on whether you reserved your upgrade already.
If you already reserved your Windows 10 upgrade: Good news!
Upgrade files may already have discreetly downloaded onto
your PC. Just look for the notification that says your upgrade is
ready, and run the installer. The whole process should take
between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on your rig.
If you haven’t reserved your Windows 10 upgrade yet: Look to
your system tray for a “Get Windows 10” icon. From there, you
can either reserve an upgrade (Windows 10 will roll out over
the next few weeks, so not everyone can get it day one), or go
ahead and schedule an install if your device already qualifies.
When your magic moment arrives, in the form of a notification
from Microsoft, go ahead and run the installer.
If you want to skip the line: Both of the above methods will
work eventually, but they’re also dependent on waiting for
Microsoft to anoint your device. Lucky for you, there’s an easy
shortcut available. First, head here to download Microsoft’s
Media Creation Tool (under “Select Edition” choose “Windows
10” and click “Confirm”). Launch it, select “Upgrade this PC,”
and click “Next.” From there, just sit back and relax; you’ll be
basking in Windows 10 before you know it.
As always, it’s smart to back up your system ahead of time.
And maybe most importantly, remember that the free upgrade
offer only lasts a year; if you wait until July 30 of 2016, you’re
going to have to pay up.

How to stop apps from connecting automatically to the Internet

NetGuard is a free application for devices running Android 5.0 or up that allows you to control which app may send or receive data.

It is difficult usually to find out what applications do on mobile devices as you are limited in terms of what you can run on the device to track usage.
While you can set up a monitoring solution to overcome this, most users probably don’t as it is not easy.
There are plenty of reasons why you may want to control the apps connecting to the Internet. Privacy comes to mind for example, as you can prevent apps from leaking data for example or block advertisement this way from being displayed in the app.
Other benefits include saving data by blocking applications from using it, and saving battery.
Applications like the excellent NoRoot Firewall help in this regard as they let you control Internet access.
NetGuard requires no-root access or even the Internet permission, which means that you can run it on any device running Android 5 or higher. The app is very simple to use, open source, and ships without advertisement or tracking, or phone home functionality.
The app requires that you set it up as a VPN connection to control Internet traffic and provide you with its functionality. This is done by enabling it after you have launched the application on your device and accepting the prompt that is displayed on first run.
Basically, it directs all app traffic through the VPN connection it controls and blocks connections this way giving you full control of an apps’ connectivity.
It displays a list of user-installed and system applications that you can control connectivity afterwards. All system apps are highlighted in orange for better distinction. Each app is listed with its name and toggles to enable or disable WiFi and mobile data.
You will notice right away that everything is disallowed by default which means that apps running on your phone may stop functioning if they require Internet.
To enable mobile data or WiFi for an app simply tap on the symbol next to it to do so. You may want to enable Internet for a web browser for example among other applications.
The settings provide you with additional options. You may use them to enable WiFi or mobile data by default for all applications for instance, reset all rules to start anew, or enable the dark theme to replace the default theme.
All in all though, it is a simple application that gives you full control over an application’s Internet connectivity.
The one downside is that you cannot use a VPN connection at the same time you are running NetGuard.

Things you never knew your mobile phone can do.

5 THINGS YOU PROBABLY NEVER KNEW YOUR MOBILE PHONE
COULD DO..
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave
emergencies. . Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or
an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can
do with it:
FIRST: Emergency The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile
is 112.
If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile;
network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will
search any existing network to establish the emergency number
for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialled even if
the keypad is locked. Try it out...
SECOND: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car
have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday.
Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car
and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their
mobile phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the
person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the
mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock.
Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is
no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can
reach someone who has the other ' remote ' for your car, you can
unlock the
doors (or the trunk)...
Editor ' s Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our
car over a mobile phone! THIRD: Hidden Battery Power Imagine
your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys
*3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the
instrument will show a 50% increase in battery.
This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next
time. FOURTH: How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? To check
your Mobile phone ' s serial number, key in the following digits on
your phone: * # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique
to your handset..
Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get
stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this
code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the
thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally
useless.
You probably won ' t get your phone back, but at
least you know that whoever stole it can ' t use/sell it either. If
everybody does this, there would be no
point in people stealing mobile phones. FIFTH : ATM - PIN Number
Reversal - Good to Know
If you should ever be forced by a robber to
withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can
notify the police by entering your PIN # in reverse.
For example, if your pin number is 1234,
then you would put in 4321. The ATM system recognizes that your
PIN number is
backwards from the ATM card you placed in the
machine. The machine will still give you the money
you requested, but unknown to the robber, the
police will be immediately dispatched to the
location. This information was recently broadcast on CTV by
Crime Stoppers however it is seldom used because
people just don't know about it...... Please pass this
along to everyone.
This is the kind of information people don't mind
receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.
