While TECNO Mobile is going to loose ground this coming last quarter of 2014

This time in the year 2012/2013 Tecno mobile put smiles on many Nigerians by giving them the a reduce priced android Smartphone with enough specification to compete with the likes of bigger brands but one thing that every small players forget is that the big players though feel threatened will surprise you the small players in the field by introducing new tactics and styles. And with this, Tecno Mobile has failed to show that the big players should be worried about them.

Reasons:
OS or ROM Update and Upgrade: When Tecno release their first set of android phones in the likes of  N3, B3, D3 e.t.c. which i will say is design for the new comers into the phone world, they decided that it should come with Android OS version 2.3 (ginger bread) when people and big players

are already getting tired of Android OS version 4.0( ice cream) and also the specs of some didn’t differentiate it from an android phone to a Symbian phone. Later they decided to release better phones with better specification and updated OS with some coming with Android 4.0(ice cream) while some comes with Android 4.2 (jelly bean) but all the same they still didn’t do the required thing. They fail to provide OS update for their phones and the ones that can accommodate an upgrade fail to get one instead they keep releasing phones of higher specs and higher OS hoping the Nigeria population will do away with their old ones and get the bigger ones. But they forget that this is Nigeria not the US, Nigerians think five times before spending and those are spending without thinking go for the big brands.

Remedy: Provide update for currently existing Tecno phones and upgrades where necessary because if you keep releasing new phones with higher price people will rather go for the big brands than go for your products. Remember ₦40,000 can buy a nice Samsung Phone.

Battery Life: Although you people really tried in this section of still yet it is not to be compared with the bosses in the game. your battery drains faster than normal while we will want to watch three mobile movies but due to your battery we hardly finish two and even after that no more calls for the day because the battery is down.

Remedy:  Change what is needed to be changed to improve the battery life of your as it is essential in a country where electricity is a major problem.

Durability: If anyone’s ever use the first set of Nokia phone especially the almighty hard one Nokia 3310 even the ones produced these days then you will understand what Nigerians need in terms of phones durability, if a Nokia phone falls, you are assured that nothing happens to it but lets put our dear Tecno phone to the test, it will fail woefully. where are the gorilla screen phones gone to or are they made for bigger phones?

Remedy: Give the smaller phones gorilla screen too, rebrand your product and address the durability issues.

Price: Price is the most determinant of a purchasing a gadget, therefore why is it that you keep increasing the price of new phones and the ones on don’t look promising.

Remedy: Reduce the price so that all classes of people in the country can get a hands on a android phone.

Tecno, we love you for bringing cheap Android products to Nigeria but we discover its getting costlier so one question I'm going to ask you is this Are you ready for an eviction in the Nigeria android market? or Are you going to make amendments? which ever your answer will be, time will tell.
